When installing a new electric cook top, you will need a measuring tape, jigsaw, shims, silicone sealant, and double-sided adhesive tape. Make sure to always follow the safety precautions from the manufacturer before doing the following procedures of electric cook top.
1. Open the new cook top box and set aside the removable parts of the cook top.
2. Prepare the installation location for the cook top.
3. Install and hang the spring clips in the installation area and screw it securely. In case the countertop is granite, use a double-sided adhesive tape to secure spring clips and then add sealant to coat the edges.
4. An Electrician must connect the power cord of the new cook top to the outlet. Make sure that the power is switched off before connecting the power cord.
5. Place the new cook top with the spring clips and position it properly.
6. Switch the power supply on and test the new cook top.
